UNITED FELT FABRICS AG FOCUSES ON GROWTH AND INNOVATION: MILLION-MILLION INVESTMENTS STRENGTHEN GERSCHWEILER LOCATION
Gerschweiler – Vereinigte Filzfabriken AG (VFG) is looking toward a promising future and is investing strategically in modernization and realignment. The positive results of the efficiency programs initiated two years ago demonstrate that VFG is well-positioned for the future. This also explains the decision to completely relocate further production capacity from the plant in Italy to Gerschweiler. Martin Schäfer, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of VFG and Managing Partner of the parent company in Fulda, emphasizes: “With the decision to concentrate our wool felt production capacities at VFG and to launch a multi-million euro investment and growth program here, we are reaffirming our clear commitment to VFG and to the Gerschweiler location.”

The next step will focus on extensive optimizations in various production areas and a stronger emphasis on more efficient workflows. Customer orientation and cost efficiency are key aspects for meeting the constantly changing national and international conditions and being best prepared for the future.
Investments for a successful future
VFG is investing heavily in expanding its machinery and equipment. These investments are aimed not only at developing new and improved products, but also at making the production of its globally recognized quality products more cost-effective and efficient.
Another focus is on strengthening its market position. As a training company, VFG fosters young professionals and is continuously seeking experienced and dedicated employees who want to further develop the company's potential within a dynamic and motivated team. "We are on the right track and, with the current momentum, want to implement the approved projects as quickly as possible. We will have completed the majority of these measures by the end of 2024," explains CEO Jürgen Haggenmüller.

The long-established company Vereinigte Filzfabriken AG (VFG), based in Gerschweiler, recognized the growing importance of wool felt and technical textiles early on and established itself as a supplier of technical wool felts and needle-punched nonwovens.
Under the brands VFGwoolTEC and VFGweaponCARE, wool felts are produced for design, decoration, technical applications, and gun care. VFGlineTEC specializes in needle-punched nonwoven developments for trenchless sewer rehabilitation, while VFGsealTEX develops products for use in household appliances.
